SHIRT TYPES - CUSTOM T-SHIRTS
NEWS: The basics of custom shirt types!
By Kevin Kelly

Custom T-Shirts are broken into several tupes. The first category is the heavyweight custom t-shirt. The second category is the super heavyweight custom t-shirt and the third category is the super heavyweight custom t-shirt.

The term heavyweight refers to goods that are assembled from fabric that weighs 5.5 ounces per fabric yard. These are the typical weight t-shirts that you would expect when you purchase the least expensive shirt on today’s market. Styles such as the Gildan g5000, Hanes 5280 or Jerzees 363m are typical heavyweight t-shirts. These are great shirts  -  they last,  print well and fit well.

Super heavyweight t-shirts are assembled from fabric that weigh 6.1 ounces per fabric yard. Examples of this style are the Gildan g2000 and the Hanes 5250. These shirts are not as soft as the standard heavyweight t-shirts. However these shirts come in a greater selection of colors and sizes due to their increased popularity. These shirts also run slightly larger.

The fashion tee category is made up of shirts that typically are made from 4.5 ounce weight fabric. Some goods in this category, such as burnout tees,  may be as light as 3.2 ounce fabric. Shirts in this popular category include the Hanes 4980, Gildan 6400 and American Apparel 2001. These goods are soft and fitted.
