The Custom T-Shirt Free Shipping Con

By Kevin Kelly - President / Ceo

Customers often come to us asking that we compete with other t-shirt printers prices. If a price is reasonable we are always glad to be competitive to get any job printing custom t-shirts. I have been making printed t-shirts professionally for more than two decades now and I can tell you what a real price is.

But prices are misleading. The biggest con of all is free shipping. Nothing is free – anywhere. We charge $9.35 for a single t-shirt, printed full color on a Black Gildan Heavyweight tee shirt plus $5.00 shipping. This is about $7.00 less than most of our competitors who offer “Free Shipping”. If you order 12 t-shirts the price is the sames and the shipping is about $13.00 via USPS. Their price is still $7.00 more per shirt – strange. I guess they charge $84.00 for shipping! But how much is their printed t-shirt? They never say – all they ever say is Free Shipping! I’m starting to feel like free shipping is the biggest con game in the t-shirt business. Our suggestion to all of our customer t-shirt customers is to ask your vendor to break down the price of shipping and set-up on all invoices. By doing this you begin to see that free shipping is not so free after all.

Never buy t-shirts from any company that doesn’t specify a brand on their website. This is the surest way to be stuck with inferior t-shirts that often don’t print well. We here horror stories every week from frantic consumers trying to replace defective custom t-shirts at the last second. Shop smart and ask questions.
