We have received reliable information regarding an imminent worldwide shortage of ringspun cotton yarn due to increased demand. This situation will affect all major brands of fashion t-shirts and all custom t-shirt printers worldwide. Our sources tell us the supply of ringspun cotton yarn which is used in virtually every custom t-shirt in the fashion category is in short supply.  Our sources tell us that the major brands are unable to source raw material at this time. The custom t-shirt industry could feel the effects of this shortage as early as August or September if inventories don't rebound.

This shortage will affect all brands including Gildan, Hanes, American Apparel, TCS, Alternative, and Anvil. All sub-brands will suffer greater shortages due to lack of depth in pre-booked commodity purchases.

We belive short term inventory is good. However, we caution our caution our custom t-shirt customers who depend on these items to be watchful of this situation.

Cotton futures have been on the rise since 2009. It appears this trend will continue according to many analysts. Ringspun cotton fabric demand has risen steadily over the past several years in the custom t-shirt marke and at the general retail level.
