The current launch date is set for immediately after the Labor Day holiday. The new portal will be for customers that have finished logos that are ready for digitizing.

Blue Heron CEO, Kevin Kelly, stated that many of the company’s customers do not need the “design your own services” that are currently in place and this solution will afford those customers the opportunity to make direct purchases at lower prices.

Kelly elaborated by saying “We are finding that more and more of our embroidery customers are taking a more sophisticated approach to designing for embroidery. Many of the companies we are dealing with have paid for outside vendors to create logo’s that can be used specifically for custom embroidery. We believe that Custom embroidery requires a different approach in the online markets than custom t-shirts do. Custom Tee Shirts are much easier to handle in the online environment than custom embroidered polo shirts and hats for instance. Embroidery has a finite set of requirements that can’t be worked around due to the nature of commercial embroidery equipments capabilities. We are going to clearly specify these requirements on every page.”

 Kelly finished by saying that “When people are willing to spend thousands of dollars online without speaking to a customer service rep, the process needs to be as streamlined, as direct and as comfortable as possible for the end user. We believe we have achieved that in the new portal. We intend to feature 50 new products for custom embroidery including custom polo shirts, custom hats and custom dress shirts.”
